California CompetesThe state's California Competes Tax Credit is an income based tax credit available to businesses that want to grow in California. Starting on March 9th, the application for the next round of funding ($31,000,000 plus any unallocated funds from the previous rounds) will be available for all businesses.

If you know of a small or large business that can benefit from such a tax credit, or are a business owner yourself, please join me and the offices of Senator Anthony Cannella, Senator Bill Monning, and Assemblymember Mark Stone for a California Competes Tax Credit workshop with the Governor's Office of Business and Economic Development (GO-Biz) and learn how to apply.

Thursday, February 26, 2015
9:30 to 10:30 a.m.

Monterey County Agricultural Center
1428 Abbott Street
Salinas, CA 93901

The purpose of the Credit is to attract and retain high-value employers in industries with high economic multipliers. It is available statewide to all industries and does not include any geographic or sector-specific restrictions.

The good news for small business owners is that 25 percent of the total credits available each year are specifically reserved for small businesses.
