Assemblymember Robert Rivas: May Revise Makes Historic Investments, Creates Opportunities to Improve California for All Residents

For immediate release:

Sacramento, CA— Following the release of Governor Newsom’s May Revision of his budget proposal for the next fiscal year, Assemblymember Robert Rivas (D-Salinas) released the following statement:

“I share the Governor’s optimism for what’s possible in California and applaud critical investments the May Revise makes to get us there. We must now finish the job and ensure that our historic surplus is spent as thoughtfully and proactively as possible. It’s time to finally take on our biggest crises, from drought to housing affordability to environmental justice, and beyond.

I look forward to continuing to work with the Governor and my colleagues in the Legislature to target investments to improve outcomes and create a brighter future for all residents.”
